OUR STAFF

The Med-O-Lark staff is composed of extremely talented, highly educated adults from many diverse backrounds. Med-O-Lark seeks individuals who are warm, caring, giving and nurturing. The average age of the camp staff is nearly 25. All cabin counselors are at least 20 years of age, and many are older. Prior to the beginning of camp, Med-O-Lark staff attend a mandatory, intensive, ten day training program. During this ten day training program, staff members receive instruction in camper safety and are familiarized with Med-O-Lark’s policies, procedures and values. The length and scope of Med-O-Lark’s training program greatly exceeds the training guidelines established by the American Camp Association.

Med-O-Lark staff comes from many states and countries. Historically, staff have come from countries such as Great Britain, Australia, Israel and South Africa. Med-O-Lark prides itself on having a superior, adult staff of professional artists and teachers. Our staff instuctors–in fields as diverse as pottery and tennis–have made names for themselves in their professions and converge on Med-O-lark during the summers to engage campers in the activities they themselves find so rewarding. This mix of people with fresh ideas and unique perspectives forms a diverse community. Med-O-Lark counselors not only provide campers with support, guidance and instruction, but with lasting friendship and mentorship as well.
